After a week in Manantali, I finally saw the hippos! Atually, saw lots of hippos- as the hot season wears on, they keep letting water out into the river, so the tide is pretty high. Every morning I woke up with the hippos roaring and grunting in the middle of the river, and although I had to keep a far distance away from them, (hippos are temperamental creatures, for all their cuteness) it was great to see them finally.
